SC Technical College Announces New Program to Address Healthcare Worker Shortage

Officials at the Tri-County Institute of Technology in Pendleton, South Carolina, have announced a new workforce development program aimed at addressing a critical shortage of healthcare workers. This is in partnership with Honor Health Career Programs and HMR Veterans Services, Inc. This new program will enable certified nursing assistants working at Richard M. Campbell’s Nursing Her Home in Anderson to engage in the education and training to become certified practice nurses. Education and training are provided onsite, not on college campuses. HMRVSI provides the learning environment, TCTC provides education, and HHCP provides instruction and funding for tuition, books and supplies. “This is truly customized for adults. We know that in today’s market adults cannot quit their jobs to go to school. will be able to continue their education,” said the president of TCTC. Dr. Galen DeHay. The next group of HMRVSI employees will begin his classes in January 2024 and his projected graduation date will be May 2025.
