Drake puts his health first.
On Friday, the 36-year-old Canadian rapper revealed while speaking on his show that he was taking a break from music to focus on his health. 1 person table on SiriusXM’s Sound 42.
Describing himself as having the “craziest problem” with his stomach, the musician said he plans to take a break “for probably a year.”
“I probably won’t make music for a while, I’ll be honest,” he said. “I have some things I need to do for other people that I’ve committed to, but I probably won’t be making music for a while. I’m going to be serious about you. I’m going to take care of my health first and foremost. We need to focus on that, so we’ll talk about that soon.”
“Nothing crazy, but I just want people to stay healthy, and I’ve had weird stomach problems for years,” he continued. “So I need to focus on my health and get the right treatment, and that’s what I’m going to do.”
“I have to stay strong. I have a lot of other things I want to focus on. So I’m going to close the studio door for a little while. I don’t even know,” he added. “What do you mean by a little while? Maybe a year or so, maybe a little longer.”
