On September 28, Mon Health Medical Center Auxiliary was recognized by the West Virginia Hospital Auxiliary Association (AWVHA) for two initiatives: State Service Project of the Year and Service and Fundraising Project of the Year.
The Mon Health Medical Center Auxiliary contributes to the health of our community by meeting a variety of patient needs and raising funds for the hospital. This auxiliary organization is comprised of members who support projects and work to provide improvements for patients, families, and staff at Mon Health Medical Center.
“We are very proud to win National Service Project of the Year and Service/Fundraising Project of the Year,” said Christine Battin, Chair of the Mon Health Medical Center Auxiliary Board of Directors. he said. “These awards are a declaration of our commitment to our community and the impact we have on the lives of patients at Mon Health Medical Center.”
“Free Rides On Ground” (FROG) was awarded National Service Project of the Year by AWVHA. The FROG was purchased by Auxiliary and donated to Mon Health Medical Center and is designed to transport patients to and from their vehicles on hospital grounds.
Mon Health’s annual Ball of the Year recognized the best service and fundraising project of the year for hospitals with 100 to 199 beds. The 2022 Ball of the Year, held in support of the Postpartum Progress Program (P3), raised more than $500,000, making it one of the hospital’s most successful fundraisers to date.
“As a not-for-profit hospital system, auxiliary hospitals are an integral part of our organization, and these awards are made to support our mission of improving the health of our communities, one person at a time. It’s a testament to the great efforts that have been made,” Dr. Crystal said. Ms. Atkinson is Chief Administrative Officer of Mon Health Medical Center and Chief Nursing Officer of Mon Health System. “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the people at Augillian for their tireless efforts and passion for patient care. Their dedication has a valuable impact on our work.”
