The Joplin Globe publishes a summary of routine and follow-up inspections conducted by the Joplin Health Department. Businesses that undergo inspections pass or fail based on violations found during the inspection. These violations fall into two categories:
• Priority violations are more severe and cover improper food handling, storage, and preparation. The globe lists the number and summary of each violation.
• Core violations are less serious and involve equipment, maintenance, and general cleanliness. The Globe only publishes the number of violations.
A failed inspection may require various corrections depending on the type of violation found. A complete copy of each report is available from the Joplin Health Department.
